Responsible for performing scientific experiments under the direction of the principal investigator related to immunology, infectious diseases, biochemistry, and structural biology. Experiments will include tissue culture, processing human and animal blood and tissue samples, performing virus and bacterial experiments, performing lab animal studies, protein expression and purification, immunological assays, routine lab autoclaving and dishwashing, managing day to day lab activities, and other related tasks as assigned. Performs routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, maintains laboratory equipment, and oversees supply orders. Assures implementation of safety procedures and instructs faculty and students in procedures and operation of laboratory equipment. Maintain current knowledge of research techniques through library literature and attendance at campus seminars. Presents research findings through lab presentations and seminars. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and five years of experience in the appropriate area.
