Job Description:
The RegionalMedical Scientific Director (RMSD), Virology, is a credentialed(MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP) therapeutic and disease area expert. TheRMSD engages in scientific exchange and research support withexternal scientific leaders and investigators, providing factual,scientific information about non-product areas related to Virology(HIV). RMSDs facilitate peer relationships with scientific leadersand support data generation activities, including sponsored trialsand investigator studies.
Location:
This is a REMOTE position, butresidence must be within South Florida (Tampa, Fort Lauderdale,Miami). Up to 50% travel required, including some overnightstays.
Primary Responsibilities:
Engage in scientific exchange and research support withexternal scientific leaders and investigators. Provide factual, scientific information about non-product areasrelated to Virology (HIV). Develop and maintain peer relationships with scientific leadersand investigators. Support data generation activities, including sponsored trialsand investigator studies. Identify and manage relationships with scientific leaders andinvestigators. Conduct scientific discussions and ensure a scientific presencein the community. Engage in proactive scientific discussions on disease states,diagnosis, epidemiology, and unmet medical needs. Communicate stakeholder insights to internal teams to informstrategies. Represent the company at scientific meetings andconferences. Develop and execute territory plans aligned with globalstrategies. Support investigator-initiated research and clinicaldevelopment programs. Provide scientific support to Health Systems Teams. Maintain in-depth knowledge of the disease and therapeutic areathrough educational activities. Ensure compliance with all policies, laws, and ethicalstandards.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP) relevant to thedisease area.
Experience and Skills:
Experience in Virology, especially
HIV/AIDS.
At least 3 years in biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcareenvironment, plus 3 years of clinical/research experience inrelevant disease areas. Alternatively, 5+ years of Medical Scientific Liaisonexperience in relevant TA. Excellent communication, networking, and presentationskills. Ability to travel up to 50% and reside in the territory. Deep therapeutic knowledge and understanding of scientifictrends. Ability to network with external stakeholders. Strong data analysis and interpretation skills. Knowledge of clinical research processes, FDA regulations, andethical guidelines.
Preferred Skills:
Recognition for scientific excellence in TA. 5+ years pharmaceutical industry experience in relevantTA. Existing relationships within the geographic area. Leadership skills and proficiency in MicrosoftOffice.
