Our MSLs are a field-based extension of the Medical team, who represent and reflect argenx’s values as a science-driven, patient-centric organization. This position will engage with key stakeholders at academic and community health centers, serve as a strategic partner to fellow cross functional team members and are experts on argenx’s scientific data, products and trials within thyroid eye disease (TED). This position will report directly to the Head, Immunology & Payer Medical Science Liaisons.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Developing medical and scientific expertise in TED, Grave’s Disease, and future pipeline indicationsDevelop and maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of relevant diseaseso Compounds, development indications and treatment plans o Be acknowledged internally and externally as an expertPartner with Medical Affairs, HEOR, Patient Advocacy and Global Commercial Planning and Readiness to create a thorough internal understanding of thyroid eye disease and other pipeline opportunities Identify potential high-impact medical research projects and publication opportunities (e.g., white papers to inform treatment guidelines), in line with argenx identified areas of interest Attend appropriate local, national, and international meetings and congresses to gather intelligence, develop productive collaborations, ensuring insights are shared within argenxHCP engagementIdentify, recommend and support site principal investigators (PIs) for on-going and planned TED, Grave’s Disease, and pipeline clinical trials Promote clinical trial engagement through scientific exchange and presentationsEnsure timely and informative scientific/medical exchanges and education for healthcare community on topics like disease awareness, diagnostics, treatment and adherence that accurately reflect scientific data and research objectives, compliantly within TED, Grave’s Disease, and pipeline medical strategy Respond to questions from the healthcare community with integrity, compliance, and adherence to all legal, regulatory, and argenx guidelines, policies & procedureResponsible for tailoring engagement strategies by adeptly recognizing and accommodating the stakeholder archetypes (e.g., academic vs community) and their unique informational needsKOL engagementDevelop and maintain relationships with healthcare Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within TED, Grave’s Disease, and relevant pipeline indications to collaborate on research projects, advisory boards and peer-to-peer educational initiativesEngage in development related activities by collaborating with PI and study sites to facilitate participation in clinical trials and provide guidance on study protocols, patient recruitment, etc. in TED, Grave’s Disease, and relevant pipeline studiesCollaborate with KOLs on evidence generation appropriately including sponsored, translational, and outcomes research within TED, Grave’s Disease, and relevant pipeline indicationsCross-functional collaborationEnsure close working relationship with cross-functional field partners, Global Commercial Planning and Readiness team, Clinical Development/Operations compliantly, to ensure launch readinessSupport cross-functional teams to ensure operations are patient-focused, including rapidly responding to internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and provide medical affairs support to all stakeholders
Skills and Competencies:
TED and/or Grave’s Disease experience is strongly preferred. Candidates also must possess portfolio-oriented mindset and strong aptitude for effectively working with cross-functional teamsScientific and customer-centric mindset with successful track record of delivering results that meet or exceed targeted objectives Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate productively with external stakeholders (e.g., medical experts, healthcare professionals) and strongly preferred within TED and Grave’s DiseaseEffective collaborator on cross-functional teams with a variety technical expertise and backgroundsAble to quickly understand complex disease areas, treatments and clinical development plansThorough understanding of clinical trial phases and executionAble to problem solve proactively and translate territory/organizational needs into actionCan operate with significant autonomy to assess priorities and customize decisions in real timeFlexible to travel within region, USA, and global based on business needs
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
Scientific, healthcare or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO)3+ years of Medical Science Liaison in the biopharmaceutical industry with strong preference for previous experience within TED and Grave’s Disease sub-specialists Strong preference for candidates who reside in FloridaTherapeutic area experience in TED and Grave’s Disease is strongly preferred. Will consider candidates who have extensive experience with endocrinologists or other ophthalmological disease areasStrong clinical, scientific and healthcare business acumenStrong knowledge of the US healthcare landscape, including hospital systems and healthcare professionalsStrong understanding of compliance, legal and regulatory landscape related to interactions with healthcare professionalsFluency in translating medical market research and data-driven insights into actionable strategic initiatives Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and VEEVA#LI-RemoteAt argenx, all applicants are welcomed in an inclusive environment.
