JOB SUMMARY

BioCrystPharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison(MSL) to join our US Medical Affairs team. As a field-based MSL youwill be a true scientific, medical expert and an extension ofBioCryst Medical Affairs. You will build and facilitate strategicpeer-to-peer relationships with key Health Care Providers (HCP) inthe assigned region. You will be providing credible and unbiasedscientific information, identifying and executing the strategicMedical Affairs Plan and supporting home office medical activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and demonstrate a thorough working knowledge ofBioCryst, its products, as well as current medical/scientificresearch & publications. Establish BioCryst’s Medical Affairs presence in the medicalcommunity through long-term and valued scientific relationshipswith thought leaders, the medical community, and patientorganizations. Represent BioCryst at all scientifically and medically relevantevents in the designated geographical area. Provide medical/scientific presentations to internal andexternal groups. Provide internal stakeholders with feedback and insights fromfield interactions and discussions with Health CareProfessionals. Provide support at professional meetings and congresses,collecting insights and competitive intelligence, and developingtools that support medical functions at the meeting. Maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in raredisease therapeutic areas. Review scientific journals and attend scientific and keytechnical meetings. Respond to and document unsolicited requests for scientificinformation for BioCryst products, including those indevelopment. Share clinical and value-based expertise in the development andmanagement of clinical and scientific communications for customers,including publications, conference data, and educational materials,as well as for internal BioCryst communications and materials to beused in training and development activities. Participate in the planning and execution of advisory boardmeetings including objectives, content development and delivery ofclinical presentations when needed. Support clinical initiatives including site identification andfeasibility, trial recruitment, registry and presentation ofapproved data if needed. Support commercial team functions by facilitating internaltraining and scientific material review, assisting with speakerprograms, and providing competitive insights into therapeutic areaplanning. Adhere to corporate and healthcare compliance guidance in allactivities.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced degree (Pharm.

D., Ph.D., M.D) required. 3+ years of related work experience (clinical, managed care, orindustry experience) and prior rare disease experiencepreferred. Ability to establish and maintain relationships withinfluential thought leaders. Ability to think strategically; apply knowledge and analyticalskills in a highly regulated environment and align medical andcommercial strategies. Ability to summarize complex information and present in aclear, concise and scientifically accurate manner to a range ofaudiences. Outstanding business acumen; knows the industry, BioCryst’svalue proposition, key competitors and other marketplacefactors/dynamics. Excellent communication and collaboration skills; exhibitsprofessional maturity, confidence, and competence. Adherence and compliance with all required regulatoryguidelines. Ability for frequent travel and must possess a valid driver’slicense. Weekend travel may be required.
