Founded in 1985, the Client SportsScience Institute (GSSI) is committed to helping athletes optimizetheir health and performance through research and education inhydration and nutrition science. Recently, GSSI has embarked on anew project to expand the research and athlete testing facility inValhalla. This facility is responsible for conducting efficacyresearch on functional ingredients for hydration. As a part ofGSSI, the incumbent of this Scientist role will be responsible forrepresenting GSSI and the R D teams with high standards and inaccordance with ethical guidelines for human research and conduct.
Job responsibilities: Execute the laboratory-based clinicalresearch strategy and program at GSSI s research hub in Valhalla,NY. Primarily responsible for study coordination, includingclinical trial document management, subject recruitment, screening,and scheduling Assisting colleagues in the day-to-day execution ofresearch projects including data collection, data entry, andwriting of internal reports. Qualifications/Requirements M.S.required in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology/Nutrition or relateddiscipline. Demonstrable knowledge of and following of goodclinical practice (GCP) guidelines. Demonstrable knowledge of humanphysiology. Two or more years of experience in clinical research(can include experience gained during M.S. thesis work). Must havea pro-active work style, able to multitask, and be flexible to workin a high-performance and ever-changing environment. Self-starterwith good interpersonal communication skills and ability to workwith various personalities and work styles. Flexibility andwillingness to work during non-traditional hours (e.g., start timebefore 8:00am or finish time after 5:00pm) as needed depending uponresearch schedule.
