We are seeking an independent and highly motivated Scientist tosupport the development of therapeutics for ocular and autoimmunediseases as a part of our Ophthalmology group. You will be joininga growing team working in ocular diseases and ocular autoimmunityand will get the opportunity to engage in innovative research aspart of our discovery efforts to contribute to human health. Inthis role, you will be responsible for carrying out in vivoexperiments and a variety of cell-based assays. As a Scientist inthe Ophthalmology group, your typical day might include: Designing,planning, and/or performing in vivo and in vitro studies usingmouse models and cell lines to investigate and validate therapeutictargets Working with mice by dosing through various routes (IP, IV,IVT), interim bleeds, and tissue collection and processingIsolating cells from mouse and human tissues for further functionaland phenotypic characterization Running ELISA/MSD/Luminex andRT-PCR using mouse/human serum/tissue Developing new methods ortechnologies and troubleshoot experiments Analyzing data andcommunicating findings to peers and management at various group andcross-functional meetings Writing protocols and study reports aswell as producing and maintaining accurate electronic records Thisrole may be for you if you: Are enthusiastic and passionate aboutscience and excited to learn new skills and techniques Haveexcellent communication and critical thinking skills and theability to work collaboratively with teams across the organizationHave the ability to effectively and rationally balance andprioritize multiple projects Are self-motivated and able tofunction effectively in a fast-paced environment In order to beconsidered for this role, you must have a BS/MS degree in Biology,Cell Biology, Immunology, or related fields with at least 6 yearsof relevant experience working in a laboratory setting. Must haveextensive experience working in-vivo in rodents, including properhandling and care of mice and the collection of blood and tissuesamples. Expertise with mouse models of inflammatory/autoimmunediseases is a plus. Molecular/cellular biology techniques includingELISA, rtPCR, flow cytometry, etc. is required. Expertise inimmunology or ophthalmology fields strongly preferred. A strongemphasis on creativity and problem solving will be required. Doesthis sound like you?
