Medical Lab Scientist II Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to ensure quality patient care. As a Medical Lab Scientist, you will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring the accuracy of test results. Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Essential Skills 2-4 years of clinical lab testing experience. Generalist experience in Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Chemistry. Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology. Familiarity with Cerner and laboratory information systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications ASCP or AMT certification is preferred. Chemistry analyzer maintenance experience is preferred. Work Environment The work environment includes supporting a core laboratory setting. Employees are expected to maintain a safe workspace and adhere to safety protocols by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
