Weight Analyst I Location:

Hybrid (Flexible On-Site and Remote)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Weight Control Analyst with least 15months of experience in mass properties. The selected candidatewill be responsible for developing and supporting weight controlprograms for new construction projects and maintaining control overweight changes throughout the vessel’s construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform calculations to estimate weight of center of gravityfrom design drawings and 3D models
  • Prepare weight estimates in support of proposals and newconstruction programs in accordance with SAWE recommended practicesand contractual requirements
  • Support meetings with internal and external stakeholders topresent current state of weight estimate(s)
  • Monitor weight trends for new construction programs andrecommend required action by engineering, production, and orprogram management
  • Assists with scoping change proposals for weight and momentimpact
  • Review vendor information received for weight compliance andincorporation into reports
  • Assist with weight surveys for vessel inclines and launches
  • Support scale weighing through the yard and integrate actualweights into developed weight database
Requirements:

Two years of college level course work in industrial technologyand drafting with an emphasis on college level mathematicsincluding trigonometry and analytic geometry. Minimum of 15 months of relevant experience in massproperties. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft products.

Preferred Skills:

Strong familiarity SAWE recommended practices. Experience using ShipWeight software. Working knowledge andexperience in basic stability of vessels and the understanding ofthe impacts a weight control program has on a program. Strong communication skills to work collaboratively within ateam environment.
