Meteorologist.
Do you want to work with one of the best news and weather teams in the Southeast? WTVA-TV has an
immediate opening for a Meteorologist. We are looking for a passionate, creative and driven
professional to join our award-winning team. Tornado Alley has shifted to Mississippi. We need a
storyteller that’s ready to cover and forecast tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, snow and ice in one of the
busiest weather markets in the country. We have the latest weather technology and tools, including
augmented reality capabilities to help you tellpelling weather stories both in the studio and out in
the field. You’ll work with a talented team of dedicated journalists and meteorologists who work
together to keep ourmunities informed and safe. You’ve got to be a team player to succeed in our
newsroom.
The ideal candidate must be able to present clear, focused and accurate forecasts and be able to handle
breaking weather and severe weather coverage in a calm, professional and reassuring manner. The
position involves extreme flexibility, including working whenever severe weather threatens our market.
Minimum requirements
BS/BA degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science or equivalent
Must undergo a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Must be a licensed driver and insurable for a motor vehicle.
