Actalent is Hiring a Microbiologist to Join the Team! Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Microbiologist to join our team at a leading medical device company. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of our products through rigorous microbiological testing and analysis. Responsibilities Conduct microbiological testing of medical devices and materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Perform routine and specialized microbiological assays, including sterility testing, bioburden testing, and endotoxin testing. Analyze and interpret microbiological data from sterility testing, bioburden testing, and endotoxin testing and prepare detailed reports and documentation. Analyze trending reports. Assist in releasing documents and redlines. Assist in nonconformances and aid in investigations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development, validation, and quality assurance processes. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable test results. Develop and implement microbiological protocols and procedures to enhance laboratory efficiency and accuracy. Stay current with advancements in microbiology and relevant regulatory standards. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably within the medical device industry. Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and methodologies. Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO and FDA guidelines. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and ability to work independently. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with GMP, bioburden, endotoxin, sterilization, aseptic techniques, microbial plating, autoclave use, sterility, microbiological procedures, and environmental monitoring.
