Job Description:
With the expansion of the skilled nursing unit, and the existing number of individuals served requiring wheelchair maintenance, repair, and orthotic and physical therapy tech experience, it is imperative we incorporate a full-time rehab tech position. This position will be critical to meeting the complex daily needs of individuals we serve that warrant durable medical equipment and physical therapy support.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
- They must be able to follow and instruct patients in an exercise program created by the PT/OT
- They must be able to recognize when adjustments are needed for restorative and exercise programs and notify PT/OT
- They must be able to safely perform transfers in/out bed, in/out of chair to get patient ready for treatment
- They must be able to manage simple repairs on wheelchairs
- They must be able to assist with fabrication and or modification of adaptive equipment under the direction of PT/OT
- They must be able to document exercises and therapeutic activities
- They must be able to organize and maintain rehab equipment and sanitize areas after use
- They must collaborate with interdisciplinary team and be able to give report on patients if needed
- They must attend Rehab meetings
- They must be able to don and doff braces, splints, and other orthotic devices, and maintain splinting schedule set by the PT/OT
- They must be able to assist with in-services if needed.

FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of job-related experience providing social or direct care services to groups of special needs individuals in a human service setting; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Client Support Worker 1 (SSS010) or position equivalent.
