Oncology About the Opportunity Our client, a recognized leader in oncology care, is expanding their radiation oncology services with the integration of proton therapy capabilities, including the IBA ProteusOne and RayStation Treatment Planning System. This expansion complements an already sophisticated radiotherapy program and provides a unique opportunity to help build and lead a new proton therapy program from the ground up. The department is equipped with a full suite of advanced technologies, including Varian LINACs, Radixact (Tomotherapy), ViewRay MRIdian Linac, CyberKnife M6, Flexitron HDR units, and CT simulators with 4D capabilities. Multiple treatment planning platforms are in use for photon therapy: Eclipse, Precision, Oncentra, and MRIdian TPS. This is a compelling opportunity for a seasoned medical physicist eager to contribute to clinical implementation, safety assurance, research initiatives, and education in a highly collaborative and research-active environment. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Medical Physics, the Lead Physicist will support a range of clinical, technical, safety, and educational activities, including: Oversight of treatment planning and quality assurance processes. Calibration and safety checks for radiation equipment. First-line support in the Director’s absence for workflow implementation and technical initiatives. Participation in advanced research projects such as proton arc therapy and online adaptive proton therapy. Potential adjunct faculty responsibilities with a local university graduate program in Medical Physics. Qualifications Education Master’s Degree in Medical Physics or related field (Required) Ph.D. in Physics/Engineering from an accredited institution (Preferred) Certifications & Licensure ABR or ABMP Certification in Medical Physics (Required) Therapeutic Radiological Physicist License (Required) Experience Minimum of 7 years in a comprehensive radiation physics program, ideally including stereotactic radiotherapy, brachytherapy, and/or proton therapy. Interest in research and educational training strongly preferred.
