The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation in medical settings. This position requires a strong background in medical imaging, radiation therapy, and a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and physiology. The Medical Physicist will collaborate with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and improve treatment outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct quality assurance tests on medical imaging equipment such as CT scanners and mammography machines to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients requiring radiation therapy. Provide expert consultation on the safe use of radiation in acute care and critical care settings. Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, patient treatments, and safety protocols. Educate staff on medical terminology related to imaging and treatment processes. Stay updated with advancements in medical physics, imaging technology, and regulatory standards. Skills Proficient in medical imaging techniques including CT and mammography. Strong knowledge of acute care and critical care environments. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to radiology and oncology. In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology to support accurate treatment planning. Expertise in radiation therapy principles and practices. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
