Flavors R D Manager 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars New Brunswick, NJ 08901 Zing Recruiting, in partnership with an established nutrition manufacturer in the North Brunswick, NJ area is on the search for an experienced R D Manager to join their on a direct-hire/perm basis.

Salary:
80-120K, dependent on experience This role is critical to managing the full product lifecycle, supporting field teams, and enhancing the overall customer experience from pre-sale through implementation. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration abilities, and a deep understanding of the healthcare or medical device industry. This role will oversee product innovation, lab operations, and cross-functional collaboration to drive product quality, manufacturability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
R D Manager Key Responsibilities:
Lead formulation and development of new dietary supplements from concept to commercialization. Improve product stability, taste, and manufacturing efficiency through formulation enhancements. Research and source functional, compliant, and high-quality raw materials. Supervise lab technicians and oversee lab testing protocols for physical and chemical analysis. Implement and refine testing for powder flowability, particle size, hygroscopicity, etc. Manage R D project timelines and collaborate with teams across manufacturing, quality, marketing, and supply chain. Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA, cGMP, NSF, and maintain accurate formulation documentation. Represent the company at industry events and contribute to innovation initiatives.
R D Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a related field. 5-10 years of R D/formulation experience in the dietary supplement or nutraceutical industry. Strong knowledge of product development, ingredient interactions, and supplement regulations. Hands-on experience with solid dose and powder manufacturing equipment and unit operations. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP software experience (e.g., Deacom) a plus.
