About the Role Essity is looking for an experienced Manager responsible for North America Personal Care R D. The Global R D Manger, Nort America is a part of the Global Marketing & Innovation organization, and will be managing a team situated in Philadelphia responsible for Material, Product, Pack development and Lab evaluations. They will be the key contact for all North America projects, ensuring projects are properly resourced, utilizing own team and the Global competence and secure that the NA R D team is contributing to the global strategies. The ideal candidate should/could live in Philadelphia, PA. What You Will Do Develop and prove product and pack solutions that build on consumer insights, key brand features and design elements according to North America Roadmap. In collaboration with the Global organization, secure resources and competences to support innovation projects and/or other agreed activities, such as quality and cost save projects. Lead and develop a team of Material Development Managers, Product Developers, Pack Developers and Lab Engineer’s. Ensure alignment with and influence Business Unit roadmap, GMI Innovation Strategies, Technology strategy, and manufacturing approach. Plan and lead the work for assigned area within set frames and budget. Proactively monitor and maintain performance and delivery standards based on internal customer requirements. Keep abreast of developments, procedures and practices within own area to ensure that appropriate methods and tools are adopted and implemented. Who You Are Bachelors degree required 5+ years of experience as ideally with R D or manufacturing background. An inspiring and pragmatic leader with the ability to set direction for the team. First people management experience is an advantage Proven ability to drive engagement, collaborate with and influence multiple stakeholders, to achieve results in a matrix organization. Experience working in international environment is beneficial. Track record of managing diverse interests across different organizations to achieve optimal results from a total company perspective.
