Job Description:
The UAB Medicine Administrative Fellowship is a two-year, paid program that develops future health care leaders by providing opportunities to experience and contribute to the operations and management of a large, nationally recognized academic medical center, in both inpatient and outpatient areas. Fellows have the opportunity to attend board, planning, executive, and staff meetings, and they are exposed to operational, strategic, and governance issues and decision-making, in order to understand the unique functions and relationships in an academic medicine setting. The Fellowship Executive Committee and fellowship advisors provide mentorship, sponsorship, leadership development, and guidance throughout the fellowship. This structure provides individual fellows with a tailored experience as they develop their career trajectory and specific areas of interest in their second year. Qualifications Graduate of a master’s program and an interest in practicing in health care administration. In lieu of a master’s degree, applicants may be considered if they’ve completed all on-campus didactic requirements of a master’s program in health care administration or equivalent.
