Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Assistant Director for Assessment Systems (Watermark) is responsible for supporting and expanding the daily use of the Watermark platform to facilitate institutional assessment, program review, and accreditation processes. This role also involves assisting academic departments in acquiring, managing, and summarizing data required for accreditation compliance and continuous improvement efforts. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, information systems, or a related field and 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Experience with assessment management systems (e.g., Watermark) or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting for accreditation or institutional effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication skills to train users and collaborate across departments. Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters
    Familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., , HLC and/or programmatic accreditation) and assessment best practices.
  • Proficiency in integrating software systems with institutional databases (e.g., SIS or LMS).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines. Essential Functions and percent of time: Watermark System Support (55%):
  • Provide daily support for faculty, staff, and administrators in using the Watermark platform, including modules like Planning & Self-Study, Student Learning & Licensure, and Faculty Success.
  • Train users on system functionalities, such as entering data, generating reports, and aligning outcomes with institutional goals.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with the software provider to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Maintain and update workflows within Watermark to streamline data collection, reporting, and accreditation preparation. Accreditation Data Coordination (25%):
  • Collaborate with academic departments to collect, organize, and analyze data for accreditation purposes.
  • Generate accurate reports on institutional learning outcomes, program reviews, and strategic planning efforts using Watermark’s reporting tools.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards by maintaining centralized records of assessment data and documentation.
  • Develop templates and processes within Watermark to simplify self-studies and annual reporting cycles. Continuous Improvement Support (15%):
  • Facilitate co-curricular assessment efforts with non-academic units
  • Assist faculty in using Watermark to assess student learning outcomes and identify areas for curriculum improvement.
  • Facilitate the integration of assessment data into strategic planning efforts to promote a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
  • Monitor longitudinal trends in assessment data to support institutional effectiveness initiatives.
