Position Summary:
Jore Industries is seeking a qualified and visionary Principal Investigator (PI) to lead a two-year preliminary research Phase One; pre-experimental computational research initiative focused on the discovery and modeling of crystalline metals suitable for next-generation aerospace systems. This PI will be responsible for developing simulation frameworks, guiding theoretical research, coordinating multidisciplinary tasks, and delivering data-driven insights to enable Phase Two synthesis and integration of novel aerospace materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead theoretical and computational research for identifying HCP and FCC crystalline metal systems. Develop and validate digital twins of candidate materials under extreme aerospace conditions. Utilize DFT, MD, and FEA modeling for dislocation dynamics, phase stability, and quantum compatibility. Coordinate with the Co-PI/Assistant and Program Officer to meet performance benchmarks and reporting deadlines. Translate research into actionable outcomes for materials synthesis and control systems integration. Mentor supporting researchers, interns, and technical writers, and collaborate with DoD HPC personnel. Prepare technical reports, white papers, and publications as deliverables for funding agencies.
Travel:
Less than 25% annual travel required for collaborative meetings, conferences, consortium events, and occasional laboratory site visits.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. with more than 7 years professional experience in Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Deep knowledge of metallic lattice structures, particularly HCP and FCC systems. Experience with quantum-class system modeling, embedded logic design, or high-performance computing. Strong track record in research project leadership, federal reporting, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Prior military, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
