Job Summary:

The Associate Vice President for Institutional Research position provides expertise and leadership for the vision, mission, direction, and operational priorities for the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment.

Additional Department Summary:

Designs and maintains a cohesive, comprehensive system for data collection and information analyses to inform University decision makers addressing academic functions and compliance as well as administrative operational imperatives. Implements and facilitates an effective data framework for official University data to address data collection security and integrity, establishing operational definitions and guidelines for institutional data use across the University, and formulating questions and information visualizations to inform decision makers regarding institutional operations, goals, and outcomes. Cooperates with institutional partners to ensure that essential and effective information interpretations are disseminated confidentially or publicly as required. Prioritizes, directs, and assures completion of external marketing surveys and ad hoc information requests from institutional stakeholders. Supervises a staff of creative and effective analysts and researchers in the office as well as managing the operational budget and resources for the office. Provides guidance to the office staff for appropriate and effective research and/or analysis design to address institutional information issues and inquiries. Facilitates and collaborates with institutional partners to compile, validate, and submit data and information in accordance with state and federal requirements in addition to University and program specialized accreditation and other regulatory bodies.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years of research or analytical experience; OR master’s degree and thirteen (13) years of research or analytical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Institutional research leadership experience.
