is seeking to fill full-time position in its Gentry, AR poultry house location. This position is for a Poultry Research Technician. The work hours are a schedule that includes weekend rotation.

Workdays/hours:

Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm plus designated weekend chores

Pay:

$18.00/hour Responsibilities include: Oversee and maintain accuracy of daily data collection which may include weighing of feed, weighing and counting of birds, temperature checks, water checks, etc. Work with other research technicians and the manager to ensure accurate implementation of research trials. Maintain optimum biosecurity and animal welfare at all times. Assist with data entry into the computer. Assist with quality control of all research data. Assist with facility maintenance (internal and external).

Candidate will have:

Ability to multitask, be detail-oriented and a natural organizer. Must be able to work a full-time schedule that includes weekend rotation. Ability to be on call if manager is unavailable. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Ability to prioritize workload, to work independently, and in a team. Ability to keep detailed and accurate records of research house events. Demonstrate an understanding of the relationships and tasks involved in the research trials. Ability to lift 50 lb. or more repeatedly and also lift birds repeatedly. Ability to lift feed buckets repeatedly to shoulder height. Knowledge of basic tool use for minor maintenance needs. Must have reliable transportation and be able get to work site. Will need to be able to work flexible schedule and always be punctual and present on scheduled workdays. An excellent attendance record. Experience with poultry / animals preferred, but not necessary. Experience with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred, but not necessary.
