JOB DESCRIPTION
The Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery, is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) research assistant who will be performing a variety of duties for multiple research studies related to the area of vascular surgery. Patient contact is required during the course of duties. Minimum 1 year commitment required. Pre-professional school students (e.g., gap year with plans to apply to medical school or other graduate school) are welcome and will have the opportunity for scientific presentations and publications.
Key Functions:
Collect and analyze data received directly from patients and respective clinical charts
Screening, consenting, and enrolling patients into multiple studies
Ensure regulatory requirements are adhered to
Create and write research proposals, abstracts, and papers for presentation
Other duties as assigned.
EXPECTED SALARY
$15-$17/hour; based on education and/or experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree
Comfortable in hospital and laboratory setting
Minimum 1-year commitment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Pre-professional school students (e.g., gap year with plans to apply to medical school or other graduate school) are welcome and will have the opportunity for scientific presentations and publications.
Available for a 2-year commitment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience working in an office or hospital setting
