Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate and develop new nutraceutical ingredients and product concepts Assess and vet new product opportunities to determine safety, efficacy, viability, dosage, regulatory compliance, and scientific validation Analyze and evaluate clinical and laboratory research as it applies to the validation of new and existing products Establish and foster relationships with ingredient and technology suppliers Research competition and stay abreast of industry developments and trends; complete competitive analysis and pricing as appropriate Collaborate with key internal partners (e.g. Product Development) to source ingredients for new formulas Manage product launch and follow through to ensure meeting deadlines Write technical and marketing support documents Review internal documents for consistency and scientific accuracy (ads, articles, all marketing pieces, product directory, etc.) Research and respond to elevated member issues involving product and ingredient questions/concerns; provide timely responses Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Marketing, Magazine, Scientific Affairs, Business Development, Legal, Customer Service, Purchasing, and QA/QC as appropriate Create product concept presentations; formally present to executive/ownership level Provide source documents to magazine team to form the background and basis of product articles Limited travel as needed Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science, Medical Sciences or related field; Advanced degree (MS or PhD) or equivalent experience preferred Demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical research and to understand and perform biostatistical analysis Experience in the development and interpretation of interventional clinical studies desired Excellent communication skills, oral and written Dietary supplement and product development experience a plus
