5052 Position Vacancy Announcement Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Director vacancy. Responsibilities The Assistant Director reports directly to the Regional Director of the Florida SBDC at FAMU and serves as a key member of the leadership team. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the Center, including programmatic reporting, compliance, operational efficiency, and coordination of activities that support the successful implementation of SBDC initiatives across the region. The Assistant Director plays a critical role in ensuring alignment with Florida SBDC Network standards and programmatic goals, while supporting the strategic vision set forth by the Regional Director. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience. Recommended Competencies Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills;
Strong interpersonal and public speaking abilities, with a capacity to build trust across diverse business and community sectors;
Proficiency in business management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM systems; and,
Ability to travel up to 75% across the service area; valid driver’s license required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business administration, management, or related discipline; Experience in grant management, federal program compliance, or higher education administration; and familiarity with

operations, SBA reporting requirements, or related entrepreneurial support programs. Pay Plan This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position. Conditions of Employment Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
