Perform transient time domain simulations of electrical power systems in general and real-time simulation in particular. Conduct controller and power hardware-in-the-loop experiments for testing of novel controls and power hardware. Interacting with and supervising students. Writing reports and presenting research results to others. Qualifications An academic master’s degree or highest level degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in power and energy systems or a related field from an accredited institution. Experience and proficiency in the transient time-domain simulations of electrical power systems and power electronic converters in general and real-time simulation specifically. Experience using any of the following specialized software: Matlab (incl. Simulink and Simscape), RTDS, OPAL-RT, Typhoon-HIL, PSIM, ANSYS, and SolidWorks. Proficiency with scripting languages and/or programming languages. Onsite presence in Tallahassee, FL.
