  • This is an In office Position Job Description Summary This position supports the software engineers and the graphic artists in the development, testing, and delivery of training products to the U.

S. Navy. All work is accomplished in a government facility, with tightly controlled access, in Orlando, FL. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to get hands on experience in the development lab while, at the same time, furthering their education in the field of computer science or engineering. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Study white papers for mathematical models and assist in recreating the formulas in MATLAB & Excel
  • Verify equations and models used in Navy training simulation
  • Research and test appropriate values for equation input parameters and output values
  • Collect data from Navy training simulations and help verify that data is consistent with mathematical models
  • Assist in creating a Software Design Document for the Navy training model simulation. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibility. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • One year of writing academic or technical documents.

Experience gained in a formal/college training environment meet the intent of this qualification. Education and/or Experience and Education The successful applicant will be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a technical or scientific undergraduate degree in the field of computer science/software development. The applicant may hold a non-technical degree with additional certifications in technical disciplines. Applicant must have complete at least one college level English composition class.
