The role you’ll contribute:
The Senior Research Conflicts of Interest (COI) Specialist performs key leadership duties in support of the Research Support and Quality Assurance activities within the Office of Research Integrity & Compliance (ORIC) which has corporate wide oversight responsibilities for research compliance. The primary responsibility of the Senior Research COI Specialist is overseeing and advancing the Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) compliance program across all markets and divisions and supporting the Research Support and Quality Assurance Manager and the Research COI Officer in ensuring all required activities are carried out per Federal regulations and AdventHealth Research Institute (AHRI) policies and procedures (P&Ps). This role supports strategic initiatives, supervises compliance processes, and ensures alignment with federal regulations, institutional policies, and ethical standards. The Senior Research COI Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert and mentor, driving excellence in FCOI processes and fostering a culture of compliance across the organization. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of processes to ensure research team members maintain current FCOI disclosures and complete required education and training.
Oversee the review and analysis of FCOI disclosures, including determination of Significant Financial Interests (SFIs) and potential conflicts with active research projects.
Oversee the review and management of complex FCOI cases, including SFIs exceeding $40K, for review by the Support and Quality Assurance Manager or COI Officer to determine whether it is required for the review of the Research Oversight Committee (ROC).
Develop, implement, and oversee FCOI Management Plans (MPs), ensuring comprehensive compliance and effective communication with stakeholders.
Conduct internal monitoring of FCOI Management Plans, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, Science, Nursing, Administration, or research-related field and at least three years of experience directly related to research conflict of interest.
4 of equivalent work experience consisting of leading a compliance program, including coordinating COI disclosures, developing and oversight of Significant Financial Interest (SFI) Management Plans (MPs) for presentation to a COI Committee, Research Oversight Committee or similar COI oversight body.
