Job Description
The Fellowship in Performance Analytics will train the next generation of leaders in Performance Analytics and related fields through an integrative approach that focuses on the application of video, technology, and data analysis to improve performance. The Fellowship builds on USTAPD’s strength and experience to educate a new generation of Tennis Professionals. The Fellowship is structured to provide significant experiential training and opportunity for independent research in the field of Performance Analytics that is not typically available to someone at the entry level. Fellows will become fully immersed in Player & Coach Development through weekly gatherings with staff and coaches, and through the examination of current topics in American Tennis Opportunity for independent research in a current topic in analytics, player development or coaching. Online seminars, workshops, and skills training to develop analytics skills as well as: Completion of USTA Teaching and Coaching Philosophy A Portfolio of Project Work Hands on opportunity to apply Analytics theory Professional engagement with performance team staff (Analytics, S&C, Mental Skills, Medical) Fellowship dates: June 15 to August 31.
Travel:
US Open (August 16-31) is a required event for the fellows, with expenses covered. There’s also potential travel to a second tournament during the Summer US Open Series. Candidate must be entering into their junior or senior year of college, be a recent college graduate or a graduate student and interested in a career in analytics Fellow must be a former high school or varsity collegiate tennis player or have demonstrable knowledge and experience in the sport of tennis and or Performance Analytics Flexible hybrid schedule may be considered if the applicant is currently enrolled in school Fellowships are based at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL Housing expenses are not provided Florida Resident or those already living in Florida during Mid-May through August preferred Fellow should maintain a high level of professionalism Fellows must be US citizens or individuals lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence Fellow should be able to provide references upon request Fellows must be Safe Play Approved throughout the duration of the fellowship which include completing a criminal background screen, acknowledgment of the USTA Safe Play Policy, and completing SafeSport training
