Nursing | College Administration The Research Technician position is under the direct supervision of the Primary Investigator/Faculty member. Under the supervision of a regular faculty member conducting the research project, the Research Technician is responsible for assisting the faculty member in a variety of non-administrative tasks which may include collecting data, preparing resources, equipment, materials for the research, documenting results, etc in support of the research activities.
Typical Duties:
The Research Technician works under the PI (Primary Investigator/supervising faculty) who determines the research goals to assist in the preparation for and achievement of the research goals which may include the following and/or other duties specific to the research objectives:
- Participating in research through complex techniques, structured interviews, intervention delivery, or other project-specific methodologies.
- Schedules, organizes, and reports on the status of research activities.
- Meets regularly with the faculty supervisor to maintain ongoing communication regarding the assistant’s performance quality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education required, degree level and focus area: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a health sciences field) or equivalent experience.
Minimum Years of Experience required:
1-2 years of relevant experience required .
Desired Qualifications:
Experience and authority in the subject matter of the research project in question; 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Additional Information:
Subject knowledge and oral/written communication skills. Ability to work independently and accurately and to problem-solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of the research while maintaining communication with the Primary Investigator/Faculty. Strong organization and interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively with a team. For grant funded positions identified as ‘regular,’ please note that employment is contingent upon funding.
