256872 Position # 20015024 The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University invites applications for a PhD level Research Scientist (non-tenure track faculty) position. Expertise in neuroinflammation, epigenetics and transgenic mouse models is desirable. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with a diverse community of basic and translational scientists at the Medical College of Georgia. Responsibilities Conduct cutting-edge research in the fields of neuroinflammation, neurodegeneration and neuroregeneration under the direction of Dr. Xin-Yun Lu. Carry out research projects independently; design and execute research experiments, perform data analysis, write manuscripts and publish results. Develop new methods and technology and work collaboratively with others in the laboratory and in the department. Assist with training and supervision of students, postdocs, and technicians in the lab as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in neuroscience, biochemistry, and/or molecular and cell biology with interest in neuroinflammation, neurodegenerative diseases and stress disorders. Experience with immune cells, single-cell genomics, epigenetics and CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing. A strong ability to take initiative and work independently. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Shift/Salary/Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
