Description:

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Psychology is pleased to accept applications for one full-time post-doctoral fellow who will provide assessment, treatment, psychoeducation, and consultation services to maltreated children under the age of 6 years and their families involved with the child welfare system. The fellow should be able to clinically conceptualize a wide variety of cases involving young children and their caregivers with challenging behaviors, attachment and/or relationship problems, developmental delays, and/or other mental health problems and make appropriate referrals. The fellow may also carry cases involving older children and their caregivers. The fellow will also provide consultation, supervision, and training to multidisciplinary professionals. Training and supervision will be provided throughout the year. Opportunities for research, advocacy, teaching and training may be available.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Successful completion of an APA-accredited internship in clinical or counseling psychology by the start of fellowship. 2. PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by the start of the fellowship.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY

1. Psychological assessment skills2. Interdisciplinary consultation and collaboration skills3. Individual, dyadic and family therapy skills4. Completion of APA-accredited psychology internship in infant mental health5. Experience in a clinical setting working with children and adults (e.g., mental health clinic, practicum placement, etc.)6. Ability to provide training to other professionals and students7. Must have the necessary physical skills to complete consultations and required documentation8. Competent communication and writing skills9. Flexibility and ability to organize and manage time independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Specialized training in infant mental health 2. Experience participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team 3. Working knowledge of child development 4. Experience in supervision and teaching 5. Experience with consultation with parents, child welfare staff, and other professionals
