Description:
The Division of Immunology, Tulane National Primate Research Center, Tulane University School of Medicine, Covington, LA invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor on the research track.
Primary responsibilities include:
1) advancing the research and academic programs of the division including management of GLP-conforming contract laboratories; 2) supporting core services; 3) collaborating with other investigators on the design, implementation and interpretation of diverse biomedical research projects involving infectious diseases and diseases associated with immune responses to pathogens. The relative emphasis on each of these components is negotiable depending on the applicant’s interest and expertise. The individual selected will join a very active research group that includes several NIH-funded faculty members and numerous collaborators, both domestic and international. The Division of Immunology is actively engaged in several areas of non-human primate research including AIDS, tuberculosis, cytomegalovirus, malaria, Lyme disease, immunology of aging and regenerative medicine, SARS-CoV-2, and emerging pathogens.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a doctoral degree (Ph.D., DVM, or M.D./Ph.D.) or equivalent, with a demonstrated publication record in infectious disease research and strong expertise in animal model studies. Candidates should also have traning in quality assurance and experience in leading laboratories engaged in viral and cellular immunology research. Ideal candidates will have experience working in GLP and GMP regulated environments and potential for grant funding.
