Job Description
Institutional Research Analyst 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 415 South St, Waltham, MA 02454 The Office of Institutional Research is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to develop standardized practices for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in response to institutional needs. This position will support the research agenda of the office and develop repeatable, analytical processes for recurring reporting needs. The analyst will be expected to turn raw data into useful information and identify, design, and execute research projects for a range of audiences.
Responsibilities:
Develop standardized practices for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports that are created and disseminated. Present data findings through visualization tools to help different audiences understand even complex results. Develop repeatable analytical processes for recurring reporting tasks, using tools such as R, Python, or STATA. Create and manage data sets from multiple internal and external data sources, pertaining to faculty, students, and staff. Serve as a resource of analytical support to various stakeholders in the University community. Collaborate extensively with campus partners on a range of research and analysis projects.
Skills:
Strong Python or other computer language skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and organize data to derive meaningful insights, including the ability to present findings in multiple formats (written reports, presentations,, etc.) Experience with Tableau, Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tool Commitment to data quality, accuracy, and integrity while professionally handling confidential data Collaborate with multiple campus partners on ad-hoc projects to model, assess, and advise on the outcomes and impacts of their projects Advanced data analytical experience Experience with ERP (Workday, especially) is a plus A strong work ethic and a commitment to ongoing professional development and skill growth Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Requirements:
Education:
B.A./B.S.
preferably in a social science or STEM field.
Work Experience:
