Duties/Responsibilities The Durham City-County Planning Department has the following part-time opportunities: Conducting research on affordable housing development. This will include researching strategies for incentivizing affordable housing through zoning regulations by looking at the best practices of jurisdictions across the country and analyzing the development patterns in Durham. Conducting research on how the Planning Department can better integrate AI into its existing processes and procedures. This research will include identifying and evaluating AI programs to assist with note taking, public engagement, graphic creation, and ADA compliance. This work will include preparing a report on AI programs that would be beneficial to the department.
Conducting research on green building certification standards (such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, Energy Star, NGBS, Dark Sky, and Audubon) to help the Planning Department better understand each certification. Minimum Qualifications & Experience HS Diploma/GED.
