This is a contract to hire role, and the contract is for 6 months. The Research Lab Associate will you will split their time between vivarium responsibilities and laboratory work, serving as the dedicated Research Associate on the In Vivo team responsible for mouse colony management, DNA/RNA extraction, and sample preparation to support critical research initiatives. Responsibilities of the Research Lab Associate include: Manage and maintain mouse colonies including identification procedures (ear punches, toe tattoos), tissue collection for biopsies, weight monitoring, and detailed record keeping Perform DNA and RNA extractions, PCR analysis, and general sample preparation for scientific team execution Maintain comprehensive colony management documentation through electronic systems, including genotyping results and breeding records Conduct standard laboratory procedures including PCR, pipetting, and sample preparation while adhering to established protocols Qualifications for the Research Lab Associate include: 1-2 years of experience working in a lab managing mice colonies. Demonstrated experience in mouse colony management and vivarium operations Strong organizational skills with proven ability to maintain detailed records and manage multiple priorities Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques including PCR and pipetting skills Experience in academic research settings or small CROs Familiarity with Benchling or similar electronic laboratory notebook systems Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Animal Science, or related field preferred.
