Responsibilities
Under the general leadership of the Chief Strategist for Accreditation, Data Analytics, and Transformation, the Assistant Director of Accreditation, Assessment, and Institutional Effectiveness provides strategic leadership and operational support for institutional accreditation, academic and administrative assessment, program review, and institutional effectiveness initiatives. This position collaborates with campus stakeholders to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and supports data-informed decision-making aligned with institutional goals.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions
Accreditation and Compliance
Manage and execute institutional accreditation processes, including preparation of self-study reports, compliance documentation, data collection, evidence compilation, reporting, and coordination of site visits.
Coordinate responses to accreditor inquiries and manage the preparation of follow-up reports and documentation.
Maintain current knowledge of accreditation standards and evolving expectations to ensure institutional compliance.
Assessment and Program Review
Provide leadership and support for the design and implementation of assessment plans for academic and administrative units.
Guide departments in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on student learning outcomes, program effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Coordinate and track institutional program review processes, including timelines, data support, guidance on standards, and follow-through on action plans.
Develop and deliver training sessions and resources on best practices in assessment and program review.
Institutional Effectiveness
Support strategic planning processes by providing evidence-based insights and data analysis.
Monitor and report on institutional performance metrics related to student success, learning, retention, and resource allocation.
Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain institutional performance scorecards/dashboards, KPIs, and continuous improvement strategies.
Lead initiatives to integrate assessment, accreditation, and planning efforts to advance institutional effectiveness and mission fulfillment.
Provide data and analysis to support institutional decision-making, goal-setting, and performance monitoring related to strategic planning.
Leadership and Collaboration
Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of institutional initiatives related to accreditation, assessment, student learning, and institutional effectiveness.
Promote a campus-wide culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
Serve as a key liaison between academic and administrative units for accreditation, administrative assessment, student learning outcome assessment, program review, and strategic planning and the Office of Accreditation, Data Analytics, and Transformation Initiatives Represent the institution at regional and national meetings and conferences related to assessment, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness.
Supervision and Administrative Duties
Supervise and mentor student workers, providing leadership and training.
Oversee the development of data visualizations and dashboards to enhance the transparency and utility of assessment and effectiveness data related to the assessment of student learning.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Strategist.
Qualifications
A master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Research, Assessment, or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience in accreditation, assessment, institutional effectiveness, institutional research, or similar areas within a higher education setting. The candidate must demonstrate strong knowledge of accreditation standards such as SACSCOC, MSCHE, or HLC, along with effective assessment methodologies. The candidate should have excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills and a proven ability to interpret and present data clearly to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Proficiency with assessment and data visualization tools and accreditation software.
