The program begins with a 10- to 16-week paid training period , which includes a blend of classroom instruction, simulation lab work, and clinical preceptorship (length varies by specialty). This immersive experience equips new nurses with the skills and confidence to deliver safe, high-quality care in acute care settings. #PN1

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in a yearlong residency designed to support a smooth transition from student to professional nurse Complete an initial 10-16 week training phase (classroom, simulation, and clinical rotations) Gain hands-on acute care experience through intensive, real-world application Placement in units will be based on hospital staffing needs , with openings varying throughout the year Units that typically participate include: Medical-Surgical Emergency Services (limited availability)

Eligibility Requirements:

Current South Carolina RN license or multi-state compact RN license , or eligibility to obtain one Graduation from an accredited nursing program within the past 12 months Commitment to a full-time, two-year employment agreement with the hospital upon acceptance Early termination may result in a monetary repayment obligation Strong self-motivation and effective communication skills required Full attendance is mandatory throughout all phases of the StaRN program

Additional Program Details:

New grads accepted , including those awaiting licensure (must be NCLEX-eligible) Associate degree (ADN/ASN) graduates welcomed Encouraged to pursue BSN (e.g., through Galen College of Nursing ) Designed for nurses seeking structured support, mentorship, and career growth opportunities Unit placement may include Med-Surg, ICU, ED, or other specialties based on performance and hospital need

Compensation & Incentives:

Paid training during the residency period Shift differentials available: $4.00/hour for night shifts $3.00/hour for weekends
