UTIA University of Tennessee Health Science Center – 4.0 Knoxville, TN Job Details Full-time $15 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications Mid-level High school diploma or GED 1 year Full Job Description Position performs agricultural duties including livestock care, farm labor, equipment/machinery operation, and assists research personnel. Duties also include general animal husbandry activities such as milking and feeding cows. Completes other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Responsible for the care and welfare of research livestock. Assists in general animal husbandry activities such as milking and feeding cows. Farm labor and agricultural duties in support of university research projects and milk production, operates farm equipment/machinery. Cleans and maintains work environment/facilities. Assists researchers. Assists with special events such as field days, tour groups, and classes.
Required Qualifications Education:
NIA Experience:
One year farm or other agricultural experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of livestock and agricultural operations. Ability to work with large farm animals/livestock. Ability to assist in gathering samples and minor medical procedures. Ability to perform agricultural/manual labor in inclement climatic conditions. Skilled to operate machinery/equipment including tractors, trucks, forage harvesting equipment. Ability to work well in a team atmosphere. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.
Preferred Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:
Three years farm or other agricultural experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of milking and feeding dairy cows. Skills to operate and maintain farm equipment.
