Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Post-Doctoral Researcher to join our dynamic team and contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of reducing cardiovascular disease risk among rural populations. As a Post-Doctoral Researcher, you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of how to better manage depressive symptoms in rural patients with cardiac disease or at high risk for cardiovascular disease, and to develop and test evidence-based interventions. The College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks a Post-Doctoral Researcher to work with interest in cardiovascular nursing science and a focus on reducing rural cardiovascular disease disparities.
Responsibilities
Conduct innovative research and develop a competitive grant proposal.
Design and test your own evidence-based intervention directed at reducing cardiovascular risk in a specific population.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and domain experts to identify ideal intervention components for your selected population and focus.
Present research findings and results through conference presentations, research papers, and internal reports.
Participate in academic and industry collaborations to foster knowledge exchange and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in depression management, cardiovascular disease risk reduction, rural health, objective measurement of activity, medication adherence and sleep quality.
Mentor and collaborate with graduate students and junior researchers, providing guidance and support in their research activities.
Assist in grant writing and project proposal development to secure external funding for research initiatives.
Assist in the management of an ongoing longitudinal comparative effectiveness research (CER) clinical trial of different remotely delivered cognitive behavioral therapy strategies for depressive symptoms in rural cardiac patients.
Assists in project direction under senior researcher supervision, including patient screening, recruitment, follow-up, and meticulous data management using REDCap, ensuring data integrity through tracking, cleaning, and analysis.
Supports research protocol execution by setting up data collection forms, performing data analysis, and completing other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall project success.
