Job Description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associates (non-tenure eligible) position in Mathematical Data Science with an appointment beginning as soon as possible but no later than Summer 2025.
The postdoc will be working on research in AI using mathematics, statistics, and machine learning for developing AI foundations.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will join a thriving and multidisciplinary applied math community in mathematics and the data science and statistics group to work directly with Professor Vasileios Maroulas in the emerging area of topological machine learning with applications to neuroscience. This is a 12-month position at 100% research appointment renewable for at least one more year, based upon annual performance. A PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent degree is required. Salary will be competitive.
