The passion for your expertise catalyzes a dynamic educational journey for our students and their future success. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Plan and carry out instructional duties that maximize learning by students.
Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course-related concerns.
Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions.
Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
Furnish each student with a course syllabus listing performance objectives, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal procedures, class attendance policies, and office phone and e-mail access.
Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on the course syllabus.
Utilizes evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
Submit grade reports and other required data on or before the deadline dates.
Resolve discipline problems within the sphere of responsibility.
Assist and counsel students as needed.
Utilize the material and equipment necessary to accomplish designated tasks.
Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
Regularly examines assigned course content and recommends changes to the LSSC supervisor as needed.
Comply with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors by responding promptly to meetings, phone, mail, and email requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards and practices
Ability to work various hours including nights, early morning and weekends
Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, or off campus, as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Required
Transfer Credit Courses:
Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in teaching discipline.
Developmental Education Credit Courses:
Bachelor’s Degree in teaching discipline or related area.
