Manages and maintains records and historical archives, ensuring compliance with DoD and U.S. Army records management policies, while also documenting and preserving history and lineage. Ensures all records are created, maintained, and disposed of IAW applicable laws, regulations, and best practices. Manages Records Management SharePoint site and provides training and guidance to staff on records management procedures. Coordinates with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and U.S. Army Center of Military History (CMH) to ensure compliance with federal and Army records management requirements. Requires minimum of 5 years of experience in records management, archives, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience working with military records and history is strongly preferred. Requires Bachelor’s degree in history, Library Science, Archives Management, or a related field. Proven experience in developing and implementing records management programs and policies. Demonstrated experience in historical research, writing, and documentation. Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive records management program.
Responsibilities :
Maintain records and historical archives, ensuring compliance with DoD and U.S. Army records management policies, while also documenting and preserving Customer’s history and lineage. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive records management program for Staff. Ensure records are created, maintained, and disposed of IAW applicable laws, regulations, and best practices. Manage Records Management SharePoint site and provide training and guidance to staff on records management procedures. Coordinate with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and U.S. Army Center of Military History (CMH) to ensure compliance with federal and Army records management requirements. Serve as subject matter expert on Customer history, lineage, and honors. Collect, preserve, and catalog historical records, artifacts, and other materials related to Customer history; conduct research and prepare written responses to historical inquiries from both internal and external sources. Develop and maintain historical exhibits and displays for HQ and other locations as directed and within specified time frame. Prepare command histories, staff rides, and other historical publications as required. Document current activities and operations for historical record. Assist in preparation of award citations, lineage and honors certificates, and other historical documents.
