Information Processing Technician Randolph County (NC) Asheboro, NC Job Details Full-time $40,249.55 – $43,952.00 a year 2 days ago Qualifications Microsoft Excel Mid-level Microsoft Office High school diploma or GED Business Administration Child welfare Full Job Description JOB Work requires an in-depth knowledge and application of the knowledge of the local government child welfare processes, practices and procedures, and laws or regulations that govern the work. Employee is expected to review the available information that may be complex or broad in scope, determine the appropriate action. After determination of the appropriate action, advise the child welfare supervisors and staff of the action required to ensure requirements of child welfare policy and agency goals related to child welfare activities are met. Tasks and decisions are linked specifically to child welfare activities including, but not limited to, Child Protective Services, CPS In-Home Services, Foster Care, Adoptions, and Foster Home Licensing.
Employee performs technical tasks directly related to the processing and/or management of specialized documents, records or requests. Work may include reviewing items for accuracy and completeness, determining and collecting information, determining appropriate actions, managing processing activities, researching issues or requests on a variety of subjects, and managing statistical and agency work performance records. Work includes organizing work and maintaining and/or monitoring data systems including but not limited to state legacy systems, FamCare Rapid Case Management System by GVT, NC FAST, and MS Office products including Excel workbooks.
Employee collects and processes information to initiate, monitor, review and maintain required social work performance standards for child welfare activities.
Employee reviews specialized and complex documents, records or requests that may involve sensitive, stressful public contact situations; they make decisions or determine or courses of action on that information. Work requires interpretation, adaptation and explanation of child welfare program or agency policies and procedures or applicable laws and regulations governing the work.
Employees may independently prepare documentation detailing the position or determination involving interpretation of guidelines, laws or regulations governing the work processes.
Major duties include data compilation, document completion, and data reporting including, but not limited to, electronic documents and/or data files of various types; verification, problem identification and resolution; statistical, and/or other record keeping; and problem-solving; electronic files maintenance, management, display, and communication; composition, calculation, and determination of an action or compliance within the child welfare program areas.
Work requires knowledge and use of a variety of office equipment systems and related technology. Several software packages may be used to complete work. These systems are used to enter, retrieve, verify, research, display, communicate, update and/or manage data and related document control and/or authorize required actions to ensure compliance with state child welfare policy and agency goals.
Work also involves responsibility for ensuring compliance with established guidelines and ensuring staff and supervisor are aware of pending outcomes and respond within established time frames. Receives incoming correspondence or communications of various natures including in-person (face-to-face), phone calls, and electronic media of all types.
Processes correspondence or communications in accordance with established policies and procedures for the area of assignment.
Coordinates information within and between units and divisions.
Completes forms, reports, correspondence as required by established processes.
Works with various types of media to manage, process, display, report, communicate, and record all types of data and information.
Maintains and compiles data and prepares/displays statistical reports related to functions performed.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledges, skills and abilities through at least four years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or completion of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program and two years of experience as described above; or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with courses in business administration or a related field with demonstrated skills in the assigned area; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
