May 31, 2025 Job Overview The Baker Lab in the Stokes School of Marine and Environmental Sciences at the University of South Alabama, and based at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to support a variety of ongoing research projects in coastal and fisheries ecology. The position is currently funded for 1.5 years with a probable extension to 2 years pending further funding. The successful candidate will primarily focus on the analyses of existing datasets, and writing publications, both primary authored papers that the candidate develops, and co-authorship from assisting student and other collaborative projects. Datasets include State fishery-independent long-term monitoring trawl, seine, and gill net data, long term environmental data, nekton community data, and the integration of multiple data streams from the Alabama Comprehensive Living Shoreline Monitoring Program.

Qualifications:

PhD in marine science, ecology, environmental science, or a related field High-level quantitative skills in analyzing large datasets such as long-term fishery independent monitoring data Strong record of rapid publication How to Apply The preferred start date is July 2025, but flexibility is possible for the ideal candidate.
