Seasonal Worker Department of Public Utilities/City of Orangeburg Orangeburg, SC Seasonal Worker – All Divisions The Department of Public Utilities, City of Orangeburg, SC offers an opportunity for currently enrolled college and university students to gain practical experience in a utility environment during the summer months. Recent high school graduates that plan to attend college, and currently enrolled full-time college and university students may apply for a variety of positions at the utility company. These assignments begin in May and end no later than August 30. All summer positions are

assignments and do not entitle the applicant to any fringe benefits (health insurance, life insurance, etc.). These positions may be limited to 30 hours per week. Assignments are available in all Divisions (Administrative, Electric, Gas, Water, and Wastewater). Many of these assignments include manual labor working outside in the heat and elements; others include a mix of office and field work, including engineering, accounting, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
All candidates for summer employment must pass an employment physical, drug screen and background check as well as provide the enrollment specifications detailed above. College majors that are generally preferred for summer employment include: Accounting and Business Administration Engineering Computer Science and Management Information Systems Chemistry, Physics and Biology Other related fields Interested students must complete an online application by the posted deadline.
