Water Technician Position Available In Hampden, Massachusetts

Water Technician The Town of Longmeadow, MA DPW is seeking qualifiedapplicants for the FT positions of Water Technician. Position isresponsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of water andwastewater pump stations, equipment, water quality testing; meterreading; application of water quality chemicals; maintenance and repairof distribution and collection lines; and other assignments, asnecessary.

Successful candidate must have:

Knowledge of relevantMassachusetts General Laws related to essential functions. Workingknowledge of all regulations, methods, and equipment necessary todevelop, protect, and test water and wastewater systems. Full workingknowledge of water quality and resource concepts, practices, andtechnologies. Full working knowledge of water quality regulations andreporting. Ability to multi-task and manage conflict. Ability tocommunicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to maintaingood public relations and to maintain effective collaborative workingrelationships with Town departments, department heads, fellow employees,officials and the general public and to respond in a courteous andprofessional manner. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to workindependently. Ability to anticipate problems with planned assignmentsand provide solutions. Ability to use computer programs such asMicrosoft and Google Suites. Strong communication skills, problemsolving skills and Attention to detail. High school diploma orequivalent, and 1 to 3 years of related experience; or any equivalentcombination of education, training, certification, and experience. D3and T1 treatment license. Current valid motor vehicle license. Requiredto be on call as needed to respond to emergencies Salary $25.48-$27.04 per hour DOE/DOQ; excellent benefits.
