performs responsible semi-skilled or skilled work in the installation, repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines and appurtenances for the Water Resources Maintenance and Construction Department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Water Resources Service Worker IGraduation from high school or equivalentSome experience in the use of common hand and power toolsValid NC driver’s license and good driving recordAbility to obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement within 12 months of hire Ability to work regularly and to perform manual labor for extended periods often under unfavorable conditionsWater Resources Service Worker II

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent;
  • Grade I Wastewater Operator’s certificate or Grade C Water Distribution certificate
  • Some experience in the Maintenance, repair and/or construction of water and sewer lines;
  • Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement and good driving record;
  • Demonstrable skills equivalent to two years as a Utility Serviceworker I.Water Resources Service Worker III
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent;
  • Considerable experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of water and/or sewer lines, operating equipment, and making service connections;
  • Valid Grade III Wastewater Operator’s certificate or Grade B Water Distribution certificate;
  • Possession of flagger certification from the NC Department of Transportation;
  • Valid Class B or A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker endorsement and good driving record;
  • Demonstrable skills equivalent to two years’ experience as a Utility Serviceworker II.

Work ScheduleMonday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. On-call rotation required. Paid bi-weekly.
