The Game Commission invites you to consider the position of Wildlife Maintenance Propagator at our Southwest Game Farm. In this role, you will play a vital part in raising the Southwest Game Farm’s predetermined quota of pheasants to be released for the sportsmen and women of PA. OF WORK
As a Wildlife Maintenance Propagator, your responsibilities will vary daily based on the specific needs of the game farm operations to which you are assigned. Key tasks include brooding and holding pheasants, as well as maintaining the equipment essential for these operations, along with the upkeep of Commonwealth buildings, grounds, and vehicles. You will employ a range of skilled trades, such as carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, welding, farming, and mechanical repairs, to effectively carry out these duties. ly, you will be involved in the raising, care, and distribution of pheasants, contributing to the overall success of the farm’s wildlife management efforts.

Work Schedule and Information:
Full-time , 40 hours per week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months propagation experience working at a breeding facility that produces a minimum of 1000 game birds, which includes skilled maintenance and trades work utilized in building construction and equipment maintenance and operation.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
