This position reports to the Chief of Development Services and performs work in managing, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the activities within the development services division regarding civil plan review, drainage, landscape, addressing, concurrency, and zoning counter activities. Examples of Work Coaches and provides direction and support to the assigned employees in charge of managing units within the division to ensure positive outcomes and goal attainments that are responsive to customer needs. Meets with engineers and developers regarding zoning, addressing, concurrency, and site plan review. Inspects and reviews commercial construction projects to ensure compliance with standards and specifications. Provides SSPAC Committee support in updating the land development procedures manual Responsible for training new engineering technicians Assists the chief with floodplain administration Chairs the 9-1-1 committee Upon the chief’s absence also assumes responsibility for directing and managing the activities of field inspection and right of way activities. Schedules, assign, reviews, and evaluate the work of assigned staff. Perform supervisory duties related to payroll, performance management, hiring and disciplinary decisions and processes. Open Requirements/Supplemental Information Eight (8) year combination of education, and/or experience in urban or regional or municipal planning, geography, civil engineering, community planning, architecture, landscape architecture, public administration or related field. Two (2) years supervisory experience.
