Manages strategic communications campaigns to promote Moffitt’s unique capabilities and national prominence. Monitors, analyzes, develops and executes a targeted strategy to create sustainable partnerships with relevant elected officials, legislative staff and other representatives at the federal level to advance Moffitt Cancer Center’s federal policy goals and objectives. Manages health policy internship program for post-doctoral researchers. Manages military referral programs for patient care and military workforce development. Maintains leadership roles in national cancer advocacy organizations Develops department budgets and long-term strategic plans Minimum Experience Required Minimum of four (4) years of directly related, progressively responsible professional experience and experience in legislative or government relations, advocacy groups and/or corporate communications. Moderate Travel required. Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required Strong leadership skills; high level of thoughtful and independent judgment Experience interacting directly with elected officials, legislative staff and federal agencies Working understanding of the federal legislative process Strong oral and written communication skills Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task varied legislative issues and meet extremely tight deadlines; outstanding attention to detail and follow-through, analytical and creative thinker, self-starter

EDUCATION

Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Education Master’s Degree Public Health, Health Education or related field
