Legislative Coordinator 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 227 North Bronough Street, Tallahassee, FL 32301 Florida Housing Finance Corporation is recruiting for an individual with professional work experience to join our team as a Legislative Coordinator. This position assists the Managing Director of External Affairs and the Executive Director with the legislative responsibilities for Florida Housing. This includes meeting with state and local officials and staff, attending and presenting at legislative committee and other meetings, responding to legislative requests for information, and preparing legislative materials.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Assist the Managing Director of External Affairs (MD) and the Executive Director in the development, coordination, communication, and implementation of Florida Housing’s legislative and budget priorities. Assist the MD with other legislative duties as requested. Act as liaison between Florida Housing and members of the Legislature, Cabinet, local governments, federal government officials, stakeholder groups and respective staff; provide information on matters pertaining to Florida Housing business or bills affecting Florida Housing. Attend legislative session and committee meetings to monitor and report on proceedings. Monitor Florida Housing priorities at both state and federal level. Build and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers and other key influencers to advocate for Florida Housing’s interests. Track, monitor, and coordinate bill analyses for legislation of potential impact to Florida Housing. Assist in the timely completion and delivery of bill analyses to requesting parties. Collaborate with internal teams to analyze the impact of proposed regulations and legislation Florida Housing and assist in the development of appropriate responses and action plans. Assist in the development of Florida Housing’s legislative proposals and guide proposals through the legislative process. Assist the MD in coordinating legislative projects or work groups. Research and develop information and presentations for Florida Housing’s use. Conduct research and analysis on government policies, initiatives and trends that may impact Florida Housing. Respond to or assist with the timely and accurate response to inquiries received from constituents, the legislature, the Governor’s office, and other government entities or stakeholders. Prepare responses to inquiries, including constituent casework and policy issues. Coordinate the preparation of support materials to be used in the promotion of Florida Housing’s legislative proposals. Coordinate district meetings with legislators and staff and participate in these meetings as requested. Participate in state, local and federal coalition meetings such as NCSHA, Sadowski Coalition, and Florida Housing Coalition. Represent Florida Housing at conferences and events including conferences, grand openings and similar events. Coordinate local official, legislator, congressional, and/or legislative or district staff attendance to corporation development tours. This is an in-person position in the Tallahassee office of Florida Housing Finance Corporation. We do not offer remote work options.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Anticipated hiring salary is $57,000 – $62,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
